TWO SISTERS. ONE VISION.
A new standard in beauty.
Studio 285 was born from the combined brilliance of Brittany Harrington and Amber Harrington Carraway—two women with radically different strengths, but one shared truth: beauty should never be chaotic.
Brittany, a master colorist with red carpet credentials and an eye for effortless glam, has been elevating hair since the moment she picked up a brush. Her signature work has graced celebrities, influencers, and everyday women alike. Known for her technical artistry and calm, creative presence, Brittany brings the visual soul to Studio 285. She's the woman behind the blonde every woman asks for—and the color that turns heads without screaming.
Amber, a former nurse turned CEO, is the anchor that transformed Brittany’s artistry into a thriving empire. Her background in systems, psychology, and business-building turned Studio 285 from a great idea into an exceptional operation. Driven by structure, emotional intelligence, and big-picture vision, Amber built the foundation where stylists are empowered, clients feel held, and chaos has no place.
Together, they created a salon that blends precision with presence—where every detail is intentional, every stylist is supported, and every guest leaves feeling like the best version of herself.
What began as a mission to “bring Hollywood home” has evolved into a sanctuary for women who expect more. At Studio 285, luxury isn't loud—it’s organized, elevated, and embodied
Brittany Harrington
Co-Founder, Studio 285 & Salty Locks Extensions
Celebrity Colorist | Creative Director | Industry Educator
Brittany Harrington is a nationally recognized master colorist, salon founder, and celebrity stylist whose career spans over two decades and nearly every corner of the beauty industry—from reality TV to luxury editorial, from high-end salons to Hollywood sets.
In 2009, Brittany launched what began as a one-room solo suite and evolved it into a powerhouse beauty destination: Studio 285. Under her creative direction, the salon grew from humble beginnings to a 1,500+ square foot facility housing 13 independent stylists and a client roster exceeding 2,000 in just the Augusta GA area.
In 2017, she custom-designed and built the Studio 285 flagship location—a 4,200-square-foot salon she and her sister Amber first sketched on a napkin. That same year, she expanded the brand with a second location in Atlanta, opening 285 TOO.
In 2018, after five years of hands-on research and deep industry investigation, Brittany and Amber launched Salty Locks Hair Extensions. Through firsthand experience, they uncovered the corner-cutting practices common in hair manufacturing—and set out to build something different. Today, Salty Locks partners directly with a bespoke European factory to produce ethically sourced, premium-quality extensions. Every strand is held to the same standard Brittany demands behind the chair: consistency, longevity, and seamless beauty.
Brittany’s reputation as a technical genius in color, toning, and customized formulation has earned her a celebrity clientele and recurring roles on the glam teams of nearly every franchise of The Real Housewives (New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Miami, and more). She’s also served as a lead or assistant stylist on projects for Netflix, Hulu, Bravo, and commercial campaigns for Fresca, Brawny, Olly, and beyond.
She’s a proud graduate of On Set Hair Academy in Santa Monica, having trained under celebrity stylist Susan Lipson, and has worked New York Fashion Week multiple times—including as a lead runway stylist for The Knot. Her education resume includes the 901 Academy, Beauty Coach Tour, and a deep specialization in color theory, period styling, and hair extensions. She holds certifications from Kim Vo Enterprises, Great Lengths Extensions, Nova Lash, and more.
As Co-Founder of Salty Locks Academy, Brittany now channels her expertise into training the next generation of stylists through advanced education and business mentorship.
Known for her calm confidence, magnetic presence, and polished professionalism, Brittany is the rare artist who can color your hair flawlessly, run a multi-location business, and walk onto any set with grace. Her legacy is not just in what she creates—it’s in the way she leads, mentors, and elevates beauty as a whole.
These days, you can catch Brittany with her daughter River and family making memories at Universal Studios in Orlando—her favorite escape. When she’s not teaching Salty Locks extension classes, she’s working on location with clients and creative teams across the country, from California to New York to West Palm Beach.

Amber Harrington Carraway
Co-Founder, Studio 285 & Salty Locks Extensions
Business Strategist | Creative Systems Builder | Vision Holder
Amber Harrington Carraway is the quiet force behind Studio 285—the woman who turned a dream sketched on a napkin into a thriving, two-location salon known for its calm structure, elevated beauty, and operational excellence.
A former nurse with an intuitive gift for systems and human behavior, Amber blends strategy with soul in everything she builds. While her sister, Brittany, creates transformational color behind the chair, Amber architects the client journey, team culture, and scalable foundation that makes Studio 285 more than a salon—it’s a sanctuary.
In 2018, she and Brittany launched Salty Locks Hair Extensions after years of on-the-ground research into the global hair trade. Uncovering the industry’s hidden shortcuts and inconsistencies, Amber led the charge to secure a direct relationship with a bespoke European factory, ensuring ethical sourcing and premium quality with every order. Today, Salty Locks serves discerning clients and salon owners nationwide—and is backed by Amber’s personal oversight of quality control and fulfillment.
Behind the scenes, Amber is also the one quietly orchestrating talent bookings, coordinating on-location logistics for celebrity stylists across the U.S., and managing Studio 285’s exclusive travel roster. Her sharp attention to detail, clear communication, and calm under pressure have made her the go-to lead for high-profile beauty work across productions for Netflix, Hulu, Bravo, and New York Fashion Week.
Amber’s work is shaped not only by expertise but by experience. After the sudden loss of her husband, Dennis, she returned to her role not to numb the pain, but to transform it.
Everything she creates now carries a deeper integrity: time is sacred, energy matters, and structure is love in action.
These days, you can catch Amber spending time with her family, her niece River, or deep in another creative project she’d love to tell you all about! She finds joy in slow mornings, spontaneous road trips, and uncovering hidden places that feel like magic. Whether she’s building something new or booking a flight somewhere she’s never been, Amber leads with presence—and meets life with intention.
